Bio

Hello Everyone! Let me introduce myself, I am Ginger Caldwell.

I am a native of Rome, Georgia and my family retired in Bonaire, Georgia after serving 24 years in the USAF. I would be described as a true Southern Belle!

I have been married to my high school sweet heart for 26 years. We have 2 children. We have a 14 year old young man (freshmen at Veterans High School) and the cutest 6 year old little girl I think you have ever seen (of course that is their mommy’s point of view).  We have a spoiled rotten 5 year old miniature Schnauzer named Fritz.

Presently, I am teaching Family and Consumer Science. I also have the great privilege of being the Family, Career, Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) adviser. In addition, I teach for the University of Phoenix in the virtual capacity. My previous two years at Northside, I taught 6th Grade Math and 6th Grade Earth Science.

Prior to moving to central Georgia, I worked for DODEA Math Lab (K-4). In addition, I worked in the ground and virtual capacity for University of Phoenix in Germany.

During our military moves, I supervised student teachers for Rowan University in New Jersey for a total of 4 years. It was a great addition to my work for University of Phoenix online. I loved it and it gave me great balance with on line and ground work.

Over the years, I have had the great opportunity to teach public school for many years, the positions have ranged in many counties all over Georgia (for my husband having to move with the Air Force).  I was lucky enough to acquire a job at a Reading First School.  Another position that I held was in an Early Intervention Program classroom where I only had 11 students. In addition, I taught at a public academic Magnet Program that was a National Blue Ribbon Award winner.

Prior to becoming an educator, I thought I wanted to be the corporate professional. After 10 years of experience in financial institutions in Florida, I decided to go back to college. I hold an A.S. in Business Administration, B.A. in Elementary Education, and M. Ed. in Educational Supervision and Leadership. I have added SPED, GIFTED and ESOL endorsements. I will be graduating in December 2017 with my ED.S. in Instructional Technology.

Volunteer work that I am currently involved in includes being an active member of the PTO, active parent member of Drama Club, active karate parent, and active member of Refuge Church.

I enjoy spending time with my family, scrapbooking, collecting Longaberger Baskets, collecting Precious Moments, & traveling (day, short or long trips). I love to visit a new place!
