Bio
My name is LaTonya Thomas, and I am proud to be a part of the Northside Jets community. I have had the privilege of teaching at Northside Middle School for the past school year after relocating to Warner Robins, Georgia. This is the beginning of my 2nd year at Northside Middle School. I bring greetings to you as we embark upon the 2020-2021 school year.
I previously taught mathematics for 17 years and served as LEA Facilitator for 3 schools on all 3 levels for 4 years in The Muscogee County School District.
I have been in the education field for over 20 years. I began my career as a Licensed Social Worker for the State of Georgia for over 5 years. I have a passion for working with students and being able to be a witness to their successes.
I am originally from Roberta, Georgia. I received a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Tuskegee University (Thou Pride of the Swift Growing South/Best HBCU in the land!), my Master's Degree in Education from Columbus State University, and an Education Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Troy State University (Now Troy University). I also hold a Georgia Reading Endorsement, Teacher Support Specialist Endorsement, and a Teacher Support Coaching Endorsement.
Personally, I am a wife, mother of 10 year old twin girls, and love to read. We love to watch NFL and NBA games, and travel with our family. I have a deep passion for working with students. I strive to create a community of learners that nurtures growth in a positive, yet fun environment. I love being able to be a witness to the students successes. My motto is “TOGETHER WE CAN, TOGETHER WE WILL!
I look forward to working with you as partners in your child's educational growth and development!
