Hello everyone! My name is Valarie Allen and I have been journeying with wonderful students in the world of language arts for more than 25 years!  What an exhilarating ride this has been for me!

I am the wife of a Methodist preacher, mother of five wonderful kids, and a proud grandmother! I attended the University of Alabama, where I received my B.A. and Master's in Journalism and Communicative Arts, respectively. Roll Tide Roll!!! I am certified in English 7-12 and Gifted. I received my Specialist Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Piedmont College.

Methodist preachers get moved around a lot and so goes my lot. My teaching career began over 25 years ago at Perry Middle School where I served as the PK Young Reading Lab Director; then on to Chatham County, where I taught high school American Lit.; next destination, Dekalb County, where I taught 7th Gifted Language Arts; next stop was Bibb County, as a language arts teacher; and finally...back home in Houston County... where it all began.

I love reading, cooking, baking, and spending precious time with my family and church family. I count it all joy to serve at Northside Middle!
