I am originally from the upper Midwest (Iowa, Missouri, Wisconsin, Minnesota) as my father was a Lutheran pastor. I graduated high school in 1989 from Amery High School in Amery, WI. I attended Valparaiso University on a football scholarship my freshman year but graduated with my bachelor's degree in 1994 from Concordia University in St. Paul, MN (where I played on their basketball team for three years). I completed my master's degree in Management from National University in 2008. I began teaching in 2008 in Bleckley County where I taught from 2008-2022. I have been teaching in Houston County since 2022. In my career I have taught a variety of courses but really fell in love with Social Studies (both at the middle school and high school levels). I have had the wonderful opportunity to do a good amount of coaching, as well. At the middle school level I have been an assistant football coach, head basketball coach, head soccer coach, and head golf coach. At the high school level I have been a head basketball coach and head golf coach. In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to Christian music, hiking, and spending time with my family. I am married to my wonderful wife, Emily, and we have two beautiful daughters, Lucy and Abby. I am also the head golf coach for Northside High School where I am excited about getting young people to love the game of golf like I do.
