Bio

I am so elated that you've chosen to get to know me. I am a proud "military brat" that graduated high school in Karlsruhe, Germany. Upon graduation, I was accepted into THE Fort Valley State University. I obtained my B.S. in Middle Grades Education and my M.S. in Rehabilitation Counseling. I taught for two years for the Department of Juvenile Justice in Macon, Ga. Then I began my first public school stint at McEvoy Middle school in Bibb County which transitioned to Ballard-Hudson Middle School. During those early teaching years, so many phenomenal veteran educators poured into me and my passion was found. My love for teaching and my students run deep within me.

I want all of my students to believe that, "you are a light. You are THE LIGHT. Never let anyone--any person or any force--dampen, dim or diminish your light..."  -Civil Rights Activist and Rep. John Lewis, aka Mr. "Good Trouble"

I am a mother to two 17 year old twins. My pride and joy, Milani & Maurice are now SENIORS at Perry High School. The highlight of my day is watching them compete in various sports, and we also love competing in anything against each other.

After several years of teaching in a place that holds a piece of my heart, I decided to soar into Houston County as a Northside Middle School Jet. I had the distinct honor of being named Teacher of the Year, after only a few short years. This year I am embarking upon my 20th year of teaching, woohoo!!!!! After teaching 8th grade for years, I am now teaching 6th grade, which I love! I am team leader for the J-STARS team. I look forward to another phenomenal year with your child. In closing, my goal is to always teach and nurture your children like I do my own. I am so excited to be on this journey with you!
